Donating


Many people that grow their hair out long often become too attached to it and refuse to cut it off. However, there are also those who can see a greater cause and will donate their hair to organizations such as locks of love. "Hair donation has become a popular way for women, children and men to contribute to a worthwhile cause."

On the website LiveStrong.com they explain how, if people are willing, they can donate their hair through six simple steps.

1. Choose an organization

2. Wash and dry the hair

3. Measure the length

4. Braid the hair

5. Cut it

6. Mail it

The hardest part of donating is letting go of that long hair. However, by letting go you are giving hope and confidence to someone who may need it more.

Comfortable Shoes

Nobody likes walking around in uncomfortable shoes. At least nobody that I have met.  Not only are they uncomfortable to wear but on ComfortableFoot.com they explain that, "wearing the wrong shoes day in and day out can cause plantar fasciitis, shin splints, fallen arches and a host of other painful conditions. Getting to wear those shoes you bought half off that only squish your feet a little just isn’t worth the risk to your health."

The website also recommends that a person should have their feet measured once or twice a year. They say that an individuals foot size continues to change and therefore it is important to continually have it measured in order to find a good shoe. Whatever it may be, it is worth the effort to wear good shoes and make your feet happy.

Relaxation

Life is stressful. Nearly everyone would probably agree that life can get crazy at times and they just don't know how to slow things down. Whether the reason is that life is busy and they don't have the time to relax or when they do try to relax they find that their mind wanders many people find it difficult to kick back. However, it is extremely important that everyone takes some time for themselves to relax and enjoy life.

As it says on the Hifit website, "Relaxation is so important in our lives as it helps to keep our stress levels down, and consequently improves our health." If individuals don't take time to lower stress levels it could result in various problems such as memory failure, mental heath problems, and heart attack. Stress levels are so much higher than they used to be; therefore, relaxation demands more attention and should not just be ignored.

Chocolate


There have been many accounts of how chocolate, despite what was recently believed to be true, is actually healthy. Dark chocolate " ...has been said to lower the possibility of a heart attack when consumed regularly in small amounts. Because it raises the level of responsiveness of the human blood vessels." That is if people don't over indulge in their need for something sweet. Everything needs to be taken in moderation.


Chocolate has also been accused of being too addictive; however, there are many things that people indulge in and chocolate is just a well liked treat. I think that now people are saying that there are health benefits to eating chocolate that many will use this to justify eating an overload of chocolate. Again, I believe that moderation in all things is the key.

Eyesight and Computers


People who spend much time on a computer have reasons to be concerned about their eyesight. Looking at a computer screen for long periods of time causes many eye problems such as: eye strain, dry eyes, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and headaches.

There are many people who work on a computer for a good portion of their day; yet many don't realize there are things they can do to help prevent these symptoms from occurring. Something as simple as blinking more frequently can help reduce dryness and irritation. It has been found that, "When working at a computer, people blink less frequently — about five times less than normally, according to studies."

There are ways to help prevent bad eyesight due to spending time on a computer. People need to be proactive in following the advice that is available and save their vision before it is gone.

Aggie Fans



There will always be extremes when it comes to sports fans. Aggie fans have been known to have a bad reputation, but I think the fans at Utah State are civil and just trying to have a good time.

Although Utah State fans can get a little crazy they are still being respectful to the athletes. As Anthony Thomas, member of the Boise State team, said, "The one thing I do respect about Utah State fans is they are rowdy and they get on you, but they also are respectful. They don't go overboard or use any racist comments. It's all good clean, fun. That's good for college basketball."

Aggie fans, from my point of view, are college students out looking to have fun supporting their athletics.

Write it Down



I have found that other people have the talent of expressing feelings and ideas in a clear and concise manor. I envy them. All too often there are things that I wish I could say but the words just don't seem quite right. I keep a journal of things I read, things I like, and things that speak to me in some way or another. I feel that it is important to record different things that are an inspiration.

Keeping a journal may sound boring and mundane but I have seen benefits from simply writing down my thoughts. It helps me to remember things and it helps to keep my ideas organized. In the article Writing Down Your Thoughts Can Improve Your Thinking Process, Paul Standish writes: "it is a great way to clear your mind and to put things into perspective. Many people find that it also helps them to reduce stress. They dont have to rely upon their memories alone to help them with the details of an event."

I continue to surrounding myself with work that inspires me and I will continue to write down what I remember. Hopefully by writing thoughts down I will better remember the details and somehow be better for it.
