Write it Down

I have found that other people have the talent of expressing feelings and ideas in a clear and concise manor. I envy them. All too often there are things that I wish I could say but the words just don't seem quite right. I keep a journal of things I read, things I like, and things that speak to me in some way or another. I feel that it is important to record different things that are an inspiration.

Keeping a journal may sound boring and mundane but I have seen benefits from simply writing down my thoughts. It helps me to remember things and it helps to keep my ideas organized. In the article Writing Down Your Thoughts Can Improve Your Thinking Process, Paul Standish writes: "it is a great way to clear your mind and to put things into perspective. Many people find that it also helps them to reduce stress. They dont have to rely upon their memories alone to help them with the details of an event."

I continue to surrounding myself with work that inspires me and I will continue to write down what I remember. Hopefully by writing thoughts down I will better remember the details and somehow be better for it.

Study Abroad

Deciding to participate in a study abroad program can have many positive aspects that will benefit you throughout your life. Not only will being immersed in another culture help broaden your views on the world but it will also help you to develop some fundamental skills. Studying abroad will help you to better communicate with those around you not only in everyday situations but also in the business world. As it states on the State University website,
when abroad and immersed in foreign culture, the student must go to greater lengths to communicate for simple, basic needs. This enables him to be more socially assertive, a foundational dynamic for an aspiring young adult in today’s competitive job market.
Studying abroad is a challenging and exciting experience and is not necessarily easy. However, with any faced and conquered challenge comes growth and maturity. A student choosing to study in a foreign setting will stretch and strengthen his skills academically, personally and socially.
